Book Description:

Aubrey Thompson is a twenty-three year old flight attendant for her dad’s small commercial fleet. She’s a sarcastic smartass that has no problem telling you where to go. She also despises rock stars…but that’s all part of the story. Her Granny Jean is spy and will have you laughing out loud.

In comes Jake Parker, the twenty-five year old lead singer of Battlescars. His reputation is the untamable bad-boy. He’s completely “balls to the wall” in everything that he does. Two days after returning home from a month long tour across Europe he gets a visit from Bruce, an executive from the record label. He informs Jake that Battlescars is going back on tour for three months. What everyone doesn’t know is that Jake is worn down and sick of the same old shit.

His record label hires Aubrey’s dads company to fly him around for the last minute tour. In order to keep her dad’s company afloat they will have to learn to play nice. When Jake first meets Aubrey she refuses to even acknowledge his existence. He sees her as refreshing and a challenge.

Both of them have some pretty heavy scars from their pasts holding them back. Can Jake get Aubrey to let him in? Or will she shoot him down based on his outlandish reputation? Will her fear of getting hurt again keep him out for good?

Are the two of them a match in heaven or hell?

Book Review:

I LOVED this book. It is funny, heart thumping, and just plain hot! Sophie Monroe did a fantastic job with this book.

I usually don’t highlight quotes from books that I read but there were several I did while reading this one. I’ll be sharing them with you.

As you can tell from the description Aubrey helped her dad as a flight attendant on their private airline service. Her latest job is a 3 month tour with bad boy Jake Parker. Jake, having just come off tour and being told to go immediately back out without much time off, is ticked at his label and not looking forward to this new tour at all.

On the plane Jake meets Aubrey who has a feisty attitude and is intrigued that she’s not screaming and carrying on that the famous Jake Parker is on her plane. Aubrey is trying to keep her distance as she has a past she doesn’t want to relive with a rocker as famous as Jake.

Jake won’t take no for an answer. They are seen in public that’s when her past come back to haunt her. “The wounds we have reveal us.’ she whispered.”

As their relationship progresses Aubrey meets Ian Voss. A rocker who has it out to make Jake’s career stumble. He makes some crude remarks to Aubrey and she slaps him. He calls her out on it as she replies: “I didn’t slap you. I gave you a high five, and you missed.”

One of life’s lessons is shared in this book in a way I thought was awesome. Life lesson: “Life doesn’t throw you more than you can handle. It likes to test though.” How awesome is that?!

And on a final note… “no one can go through life without a scar or two.” That’s for sure!

Check Battlescars out! This is a 10/5 book!
